Robert Davi is an actor and jazz singer. He has played such roles as Special Agent Johnson in “Die Hard”, the villainous Jake Fratelli in “The Goonies”, and Al Torres in “Showgirls”. However, Davi is perhaps best known for playing drug lord Franz Sanchez in the 1989 James Bond film “Licence to Kill” as well as FBI Special Agent Baily Malone in the NBC television series “Profiler”. His recent CD, “Davi Sings Sinatra” has been highly successful.

Robert Davi’s latest film, “The Iceman” has just been released. Therefore, it is timely to listen in on his interesting and informative discussion last May with DJ Larry the Fox. The interview will be aired again on Larry’s show “All that Jazz” at 6:00 pm on Saturday, May 18 (rebroadcast at 2:00 am on Sunday, May 19).

Barry Zweig is one of the most highly respected jazz guitarists on the LA music scene. He played on two albums with Buddy Rich including one with Sammy Davis Jr. Barry then toured with Sammy Davis Jr. for fourteen months. Barry has also played for, and/or recorded with Peggy Lee, Natalie Cole, Willie Bobo, Herb Alpert, Doc Severinson, Ray Conniff, Henry Mancini, Andy Williams, Bill Holman, Don Ellis, Gene Estes, Abe Most, Dave Pell, Keely Smith, Al McKibbon, Jackie Ryan and many others. He was the guitarist for Dinah Shore on her television show from 1976 until 1981.
Barry will be a guest on DJ Larry the Fox’s show, “All that Jazz”, at 6 pm on Saturday, April 27 (rebroadcast at 2 am on Sunday, April 28).

In celebration of National Jazz Appreciation Month, the 2d Annual Jazz Roundtable will be aired on DJ Larry the Fox’s show, “All that Jazz” at 5:00 pm on Saturday, April 13 (rebroadcast at 1:00 am on Sunday, Apr 14). This will not only be a discussion of interesting items by outstanding jazz artists, but will give an insight into their latest releases, some of their unusual experiences, and their great sense of humor. However, Davi is perhaps best known for playing drug lord Franz Sanchez in the 1989 James Bond film Licence to Kill as well as FBI Special Agent Baily Malone in the NBC television series Profiler. Classically trained as a singer, Davi launched his professional singing career in 2011 performing Frank Sinatra classics. He opened as a headliner at The Venetian, in Las Vegas, Nevada, on February 23, 2012.

In celebration of April being National Jazz Appreciation Month, KSPC’s first-ever Jazz Roundtable will be moderated by DJ Larry the Fox on his show “Claremont Straight Ahead” from noon until 2:00 pm on Monday, April 16, 2012. The Jazz Roundtable will address issues in jazz, views, critiques, experiences and events. Participating in the Jazz Roundtable will be such widely acclaimed jazz luminaries, performers, composers, arrangers, and educators as Bruce Babad, Dale Boatman, Ron Eschete, Paul Kreibich, and Dr. Bobby Rodriguez.
Listeners are encouraged to propose topics for discussion at the Jazz Roundtable. Such topics should be submitted via email to Larry the Fox

Legendary Alto Sax Jazzcat Bruce Babad (B’Bad) will be a guest on DJ Larry the Fox’s show, “Claremont Straight Ahead” at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 12, on KSPC Claremont 88.7 FM.
Bruce is not only a master of the Alto Sax, but he also plays great flute, heads the Jazz Studies Program at Fullerton College, is a widely acclaimed composer and arranger, and is a prolific recording artist. He is the lead altoist with the Grammy-winning Bill Holman Big Band and Luther Hughes’ Cannonball-Coltrane Project. Bruce’s first album in his own name “A Tribute to Paul Desmond” has been #2 on the national jazz charts for the past several weeks.
