The Screaming Females - Power Move (Don Giovanni)

The Screaming Females already have quite a following in their hometown of New Brunswick, New Jersey Ė for the last few years, they have frequently been playing shows in the area with other NJ punk bands such as Slaw and Full of Fancy. Recently, the bandís increased media exposure and plans for a tour beyond the beloved tri-state area seem to signify their upcoming fame. Power Move is fast-paced punk resembling a combination of the X-Ray Spex and Mika Miko – or, better yet, a noisy, hyperactive version of Patti Smith-like vocals paired with a gritty guitar-driven background and intensely loud drum solos. Best songs are “Adult Army”, “Bell”, and “Lights Out.”
